The problem is that Magic guilds have lack of MPs to cycle their spells. Lot of spells cost 600-1000+ MPs to cast, so, you cast a few and should wait forever at healer til points back.

Help files said that MPs and regen depends on these stas:
Willpower
Wisdom
Intillegence

I had a chance to compare mana regeneration for 2 characters.

1. guild: Elementalist
race: Mathere
wil: 80
wis: 104
int: 104
levels: C 28 / M 31

regen rate when Blob/Glutton = 60-65 mps. (89 old style)
total MPs: 3162 (approximatelly)

2. guild: Sword-Mage
race: Wood-elf
wil: 80
wis: 57
int: 104
levels: C 37 / M 34

regen rate when Blob/Glutton = 51-56 mps. (92 old style)
total MPs: 3082

Are those values looking correct for new formula?

In my opinion, elementalist regen rate should be about:

elemRate = smRate * ( 104 / 57 ) * ( 31 / 34 ) = 89.83

So, about 87-92. Such rate should be fair enough.

Now such Elementalist could cast 3 G-storms and stick on healer for 50 * 7 rounds = 700 seconds, over 11 mins of real time, and cycle period is 20 mins. Guess, something wrong with new formula.

At least, I would to know what was a reason to drop MPs regen so much?

My bad, I have calculated time wrong:

on healing it will be 50 * 6 = 300 seconds
otherwise it will be 50 * 14 rounds = 1400 secods

rest, get mana pets/pstones (but especially rest cause its easiest)
And yes the numbers look about right, the stats dont just go stat+stat+stat, having a low PRIMARY stat hurts quite a bit as you can see from your sms rate vs your elementalist.
It is however possible, even likely, that the regen bonus from level is a bit low.

The 3 gstorms bit im afraid dosnt help me much in terms of cycleing. You wouldnt cast the same spell over and over ja?
I'd be interested in seeing more realistic data to see how bad it really is.

Think elems have it bad, imagine an am?:P Course, they can make their own pes

To be honest if it works out that you can't achive 100% efficiency unaided, I'm ok with that.

First of all, G-Storm is very good to clean path to Canyon. So, Elementalist is not always just cycling, you know ;\) .

Regen rates: resting 75 mps, standing 63 mps, fighting 50 mps.
Not much, I would to say.

10554 / 75 = 141 ticks
10554 / 63 = 168 ticks
10554 / 50 = 211 ticks

resting on healer: 141 * 6 = 846 seconds
walking: 168 * 28 = 4704 seconds
fighting: 211 * 28 = 5908 seconds

Almost half of those spell are combat orientired, also, Elementalist should do some fighting to train combat skills.
I guess, it's obvious that there very few time left for other needs beside resting on healer.

Well, sort of have to agree with Guinness. Noticed after coming back that the MP-regen has changed alot. But Madoc has a very valid point, we should be made to interact more! Or atleast hide in our castles with our manapets ;\)

On the whole I would like to see more stuff that requires us to team up, get a bit of "standard" MMORPG partyfeeling, but thats another story.
