I'm of the opinion that if players were made aware of the general idea of what new wizards were working on they'd be able to add ideas and feedback during the process. Is there any chance that we could have a news, forum posting, or otherwise be informed about what (basic) wizarding projects are being undertaken currently?
... We have a few new wizards on test now. and we are going to start doing more bug fixes and updates to the darkemud system to help improve things a bit more as well. I will have a list of items that we are doing this weekend. and a list of those new wizards and what they are doing to help make things better and fun for all players...

Same desire here. I've been advocating for a more transparent system, and I will continue to do so. I think people feel more connected to a place with regular updates on what's being considered, what's in soon to come, and in the very general idea of where the place is headed.
